We’re delighted to share that Chelsea Haring has joined Switchboard as Director of Partnerships.
Chelsea joins the team with over 14 years of experience in higher education career services leadership, program management, and technology at universities like Johns Hopkins, Wingate, and Portland State. During her seven years at Hopkins, she built alumni career services and professional development programs. In addition, she has implemented over 30 technology solutions at various institutions throughout her career. The past two years, she has worked as a career services technology consultant and joins Switchboard after spending time as a university consultant at Handshake.
At Switchboard, Chelsea will work with college and university teams to set strategy and establish workflows that ensure their technology solutions are successful. She will help them build and empower their student and alumni community and will also develop professional training and emerging leader curricula. These curricula will help colleagues connect and share best practices throughout the year, in between annual conferences. Finally, she will work closely with our team of engineers to develop the platform’s features.
“There is enormous opportunity for cross-departmental training and collaboration between teams,” Chelsea says. "A successful 21st-century strategy builds bridges between offices like alumni affairs, career services, admissions, advancement, and communications to advance institutions and their communities.”
Mara Zepeda, co-founder and CEO of Switchboard, says Chelsea’s expertise complements the platform. "With her experience implementing dozens of technology products and working with Handshake schools, Chelsea knows firsthand that software alone is not a strategy for success. Leading institutions recognize there must be a concurrent investment in processes and platforms. We’re thrilled to grow our strategy arm to advance a more holistic, collaborative, 21st-century approach to community building.”
Chelsea’s addition to the team, along with our new Vice President, Andy Shaindlin, advances Switchboard’s position as a leader in higher education advancement, career services, and alumni relations.
