We're thrilled to share news of our partnership with Santa Clara University. Hundreds of alumni and students have already signed up for the Santa Clara University Switchboard.
Michelle Cwirko-Godycki '03 is Associate Director of Marketing and Communications in the Office of Alumni Relations. Megan Bradley is Assistant Director of Social Media and Career Networking in the Office of Alumni Relations.
We asked them to share why they're excited about working with Switchboard.
What excites you most about what Switchboard can do for Santa Clara and its community?
Switchboard directly connects people anywhere, of any age, of any affiliation with Santa Clara right where they’re at when they want it. It’s on their terms, not ours, and it removes us as a middleman. It welcomes discussions around all topics, whatever is meaningful to each person and allows users to quickly find things of interest to them.
Switchboard lets Broncos maintain and grow their affinity for SCU and the Bronco community. It keeps Santa Clara relevant to them no matter where they’re at in their life. Ultimately, everyone has something to ask or something to offer. That’s universal.
Out of all your other options, why did you choose to partner with Switchboard?
While there are other offerings out there that bring people together, they tend to focus on a niche area like just mentoring, or sharing goods. What’s different about Switchboard is it welcomes discussions around all topics, whatever is meaningful to each person and allows users to quickly find things of interest to them.
What problems does Switchboard help you solve that you couldn't solve before?
While there are a lot of different ways that members of the Santa Clara community can learn about what’s going on at Santa Clara and engage in conversations with a distinct group or affinity, these current communication channels are mostly us pushing information out and are often segmented by target audience so they’re not all encompassing.
Switchboard will not replace, but rather, compliment what we’re already offering. Switchboard is a platform designed with the sole purpose of connecting Broncos directly with each other (whether they be students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, or community members). Switchboard will allow anyone in the community who has a question or an offer to share it with the community in a very direct way.
