What if I don't get a response to my post?

We’re glad that you’ve asked or offered something awesome! Patience is a virtue on Switchboard—but so is exposure.

Consider reposting your ask or offer on Twitter or Facebook with the Share button below your post.

Consider also reaching out to the stewards of your Switchboard to ask for help in casting a wider net.  They can do that by sharing your post on social media you may not have access to, sharing your post with others in the community you don't know, as well as tag people that are already on the Switchboard that would be interested to connect or help provide further leads.  You can easily reach out to your stewards by clicking on the "Contact your steward" link in the footer of every page on Switchboard.

Sometimes posts that don't get responses are posts that need more detail about you or the subject of your post.  Community members want to know you as a human a bit, especially how that is connected to the subject of your post, so editing your post to add more detail can help elicit responses.  Here are the elements of posts that typically get responses.

Even if your post doesn't receive any responses, sometimes it's a little before its time.  Your post is valuable, and many older posts get responded to as more people join the Switchboard in the future.
